About Dynamic Minds Academy

Low Ratios

Each class will be no more than 12 students with a 3:1 student to teacher ratio.

Low Stimulation

The classrooms were designed to limit over-stimulation that distracts students further and takes away from learning. Smaller spaces are available for students who need a break and even less distraction.

Year Round

The year round calendar allows students to get 240 partial days of instruction and meet their goals at their pace. The other part of their day allows for therapeutic development.

Built-In Accommodations

Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) will include all accommodations automatically. No need to request them, if they are needed, they will be given.

Support Services

Speech, Occupational, Physical Therapy, Mental Health, and Behavior Support will be available to all students who meet the medical necessity criteria.

Highly Trained Teachers

Teachers will have intensive and ongoing training and support in behavior management and over-all approach to educating students with ASD effectively and with compassion.

Individualized Paths

Students grow their own way. College bound, vocational focused, and everything in between depending on their goals.

our academic curriculum

Orton-Gillingham for K-7

The Orton-Gillingham Approach is a direct, explicit, multisensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic, and prescriptive way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling does not come easily to individuals, such as those with dyslexia.  It is most properly understood and practiced as an approach, not a method, program, or system. In the hands of a well-trained and experienced instructor, it is a powerful tool of exceptional breadth, depth, and flexibility.

Math U See for K-7

The Math-U-See Curriculum is a complete and comprehensive K–12 math curriculum. Each level concentrates on a specific set of skills, while continuously reviewing and integrating topics and concepts presented in previous levels. By using tools such as videos, manipulatives, and other resources, the Math-U-See Curriculum is designed to appeal to all types of learners in a variety of learning environments.

Unique Learning Systems for Life Skills 8-12

Unique Learning System is a one‑of‑kind solution designed specifically to help students with special learning needs master their state’s extended standards. From one convenient, cloud‑based platform, educators deliver differentiated, standards‑aligned content enhanced by powerful assessments, data tools, and evidence‑based instructional support. Students from pre-K through transition have the advantage of consistent, high-quality instruction, a motivating interactive learning environment, engaging symbol support, and a path to independence.

Edmentum Courseware for 8-12

Digital curricula for grade 6 through adult learners help students reach graduation goals and beyond through flexible, personalized first-time credit, credit recovery, and expanded course access.

Reading A-Z for K-7

Launched in January 2002, Reading A-Z now has more than 170,000 members and has won a number of educational awards for its innovation in reading instruction. Among the awards are a Parents' Choice Recommended Award, a Global Learning Initiative Award, and a Teachers' Choice Award.  Because it is delivered over the Internet, Reading A-Z is a constantly changing program. Each month, Reading A-Z adds new books, lesson plans, and other resources, thus continually expanding its wealth of materials.
